Scientists have warned that if climate change is not handled, the emperor penguins will go extinct by the end of this century. The prevailing rate at which greenhouse gases are being pumped, the global temperatures can spike by 5-6 oC, which would lead to an 86 % decline in populations of emperor penguins by 2020.
