Are FasTags improving driving on the highways?

FasTag is a tag that automatically deducts the toll amount(the price that you pay for using the highway) that the vehicle owner has to pay at the toll plazas. This technology will enable the non-stop movement of vehicles at toll plazas.

How does it work?

FasTag affixed on the vehicular windscreen makes use of RFID technology. When the vehicle with FasTag arrives at a toll plaza, the plaza’s Electronic Toll Collection(ETC) system will check and deduct the corresponding toll amount from that tag. The relevant road user with a registered mobile number will get a notification about that transaction via SMS.
