DST stands for Daylight Saving Time. It is also known as Summertime in Britain and Sommerzeit in Germany. It makes use of maximum sunlight in summer by setting up clocks one hour ahead usually.

Setting Process

Clocks to be adjusted one hour ahead from the standard time at the starting of summer and return to standard time in winter by setting it back again.

Generally, clocks get adjusted by one hour. But, they might be adjusted for 30 minutes (half adjustment), 2 hours (double adjustment), or for any time as per local requirements.
