India faces the worst locusts attack

India is already battling with COVID-19 and now it is also facing another cataclysm called “the locust attack”. Already few states of India are facing this issue and many more states will soon be added to the list. Locust swarms are on the way to gulp everything, posing a threat to the food supply.

Perversely, the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has warned India that locust infestation is likely to get severe by June. If unchecked, it would create havoc by creating famine and economic crisis.

The locust attacks happen because of Global Warming and sudden climate changes with heavy rainfall in one year and less rainfall in the other.  And also the Monsoon rains came earlier this year by 4-6 weeks which made the weather conducive to the locust’s swarms.
