He was an American Basketball player and entered the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a shooting guard directly from high school. Kobe played his entire 20 season career with the Los Angeles Lakers (league). His career in the US National Team began in 2007.

Kobe died in a helicopter crash on 26 January 2020 along with his daughter and six other family friends while he was travelling for a basketball game.
